It is your money and your life. Always. Our expertise is found where these two elements interact.
Our Affiliations
There is a difference between a desire to associate with like-minded people and a legal requirement for membership. We choose to be associated with the following groups:
There is only one professional body for financial planners in Australia. For many years, the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA) has stood with Australian consumers for a better financial future. Members of the FAAA are held accountable to a code of professional practice set higher than the prevailing legislation. https://faaa.au/faaa-professional-code/
In 2018, a new government body (FASEA) was created to develop a code of ethics that applies to all financial advisers
WWA is a small business with its own financial services licence. We are poorly resourced in comparison to institutions and their large balance sheets. One of the ways that we are able to ‘level the playing field’ is by collaboration with other small financial services licensees. All members of the Boutique Financial Planners (BFP) are also members of the FPA. Dacian is the current president of the BFP
Carl Richards is a US based Certified Financial PlannerⓇ who is famous for simple, yet thought provoking sketches in his NY Times blog (https://behaviorgap.com/) . Our website uses at least two of these sketches and we have been following Carl’s work for many years. He combines humour with deep insight and “The Society” is a social movement for real financial planning. The good work performed by ‘real’ financial planners is often not made public. Examples of poor advice from conflicted advisers gets much more publicity
Bellingen Show
WWA has been a proud sponsor of the Bellinger River Agricultural Society since 2009. The Bellingen Show is an important part of the local calendar
Corners for Kids
Corners for Kids is an annual charity motorcycle ride taking place each year in March. It has been running since 2000 and in that time, it has raised more than $750,000 for children’s charities
Future2
Since 2007, Future2 has committed over $1 million in grants to grassroots programs. We fund projects that contribute to skills training, financial literacy, work experience, community service, mentoring and much more. Future2 is the charitable foundation of the Financial Planning Profession in Australia
